Baltic Amber – a national time capsule
2 lutego 2026In the area of today’s Baltic Sea, over 40 million years ago, vast resinous forests stretched across the land. Baltic amber has preserved mainly flies, ants, beetles, as well as plant pollen and microscopic structures that allow scientists to reconstruct the climate and composition of the ancient forest. These inclusions are subtle, often delicate, yet extremely valuable for research.
